School is almost out and the time is fast approaching for the Summer Reading Program at the Library. Our Kick-Off event will be on Thursday, June 1 from 4-6pm with a Touch-A-Truck program. We plan to get a variety of vehicles that kids can look at, touch, and maybe even sit in!
Classes will meet on Thursdays, June 8 – July 6, from 1:30-2:30pm. We will have a variety of activities – stories, crafts, and even a worm farmer! Even if you can’t come to the weekly meetings, you can still participate by dropping in at the Library.

The Library will be closed Saturday, Dec. 24 through Monday, Dec. 26. We will be open on New Year’s Eve, Dec. 31, from 9am until noon. And we will be closed Sunday, Jan.1 and Monday, Jan 2.
Remember, we now have wi-fi. So if you get some cool electronics for Christmas, you can come to the Library and play!
It’s been a long time coming, but the Library now has free wi-fi! If you have a library card, you can check at the front desk for the password.
StoryTime will begin on Friday, Sept 30 at 9:30. This is for all children ages 3 to kindergarten. Sessions generally run for about 45 minutes. Storytelling will be experienced in a variety of ways: books, songs, activities, puppetry, finger plays, storyboards, and videos. A snack, craft, or other activity will occasionally be included that helps reinforce the week’s story theme. Sign up now!
Painting starts Tuesday, Aug. 16 and will continue for 2-3 weeks. The Children’s section will be one of the first rooms painted, so it is pretty disorganized right now. Look for a great improvement in a week or so!
In addition, the Library will be closed on Friday, August 19, but WILL be open on Saturday, August 20, from 9:00am until noon. Keep checking back for updates or visit us on facebook.
The Library is getting an makeover! Painting will begin on Tuesday, August 16 and should take 2-3 weeks. There may be some disruptions so check back for further updates.
The Inman Arts Council and Inman Public Library are hosting a reception for the student artists whose work is currently on display at the Library. Please join us on Thursday, July 21, from 6:00-7:00pm, to meet these talented artists and view their work! Refreshments will be provided.
The Library Board will have their monthly meeting tonight – Monday, March 28 – at 7:00 in the Main Center Room. The public is invited.
The Summer Reading program will be coming up soon. The title for this year’s program is “On Your Mark… Get Set… Read!” and has a sports theme. Stay tuned for dates and more details.
Story Time is every Friday morning from 9:30-10:15 for preschoolers. The topic this week is “Spring.”
The library will be closed for the Easter weekend on Friday, March 25 and Saturday, March 26.

Looking for something to do on Saturday night? Check out our free movies. We just added the Oscar-contended movie – The Martian with Matt Damon and the action-adventure movie – Divergent. And for the kids, we have Minions!
There are computers available for surfing the Web…or doing homework. We have a collection of audio books for long roadtrips. And there are a variety of magazines – which can also be checked out.
And don’t forget Storytime for the preschoolers. It is held every Friday morning from 9:30-10:15. The next session will be April 1.
